As 2017 comes to an end, we would like to take some time to thank all of you, who have supported us in our journey.
We want to thank first and foremost the humans behind this project, the asylum seekers and refugees of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Ghana and Sudan that we have met between Sweden, Italy and the United States. You are the heart of this idea and you have supported us not only with your willingness to answer our questions and participate in our case studies, but also with your view of the world, showing all of us how we can make it better.
We would like to thank the sponsors and experts of the What Design Can Do challenge for believing in our idea and giving us the opportunity to make it a reality. In particular, we would like to emphasize the dedication of our mentor, Anders, and liaison, Emma, at Transformator Design in Stockolm (Sweden). The invaluable insights you have given us will be cherished and carried forward as we continue to develop The Welcome Card.
A special thanks goes to the individuals and agencies that have without hesitation and without compensation dedicated their time and knowledge to this project: Shawn and the team at Mediocre Creative for your consultation on the web platform; Kattis, for your support in general and for helping us with fundraising and mentorship opportunities; Rania, Rima, Yousef and Alaa for your translations; Su-Lin for coordinating our case studies with us; our volunteers Meaghan and Michael for your constant work; Marina for helping us in the development of our business case; the municipalities of Stockholm and Ekerö for providing us feedback and supporting our initiative.
We would not be here if it wasn't for you: thank you for acknowledging our idea and helping us build a case for it!
From all of us in the team, thank you and may 2018 be even more amazing.
Veronica, Marie, Anders
